The 3M™ Accuspray™ System features a High-Volume Low Pressure (HVLP) spray gun and disposable atomizing nozzles - allowing you to have the equivalent of a brand new spray gun on demand. HVLP spray guns use a large volume of air at low pressure to break up, or atomize, the coating (paints, stains, primers, and adhesives) leaving the nozzle, generating a fine mist. Time & Material Savings The Accuspray gun's precision engineered atomizing head delivers a large usable spray pattern, which allows for decreased production time and increased production rate. Separate fan and fluid needle adjustments provide a soft, tight, adjustable and accurate spray pattern so that the coating lands where it is intended to, which saves both time and materials. Sanding time is reduced as a result of the flatter, smoother, high quality finish delivered by efficient atomization. The minimal overspray leads to less time masking, bagging, and cleaning up. The replaceable atomizing head design cuts cleaning solvent use and clean-up time. The 3M Accuspray System functions along with the 3M PPS Paint Preparation System, resulting in coating and material savings, less solvent usage, and less cleaning time. All of these factors can boost productivity and increase profitability in any production facility. Multiple Applications This spray gun was designed from the inside out for effective, efficient, economical application of paints, adhesives, coatings and finishes for multiple settings such as automotive refinishing, architectural, industrial, sign shops, woodworking, furniture refinishing, and cabinet making. The Accuspray System complies with a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency law that requires the use of an HVLP (high-volume, low-pressure) spray gun with a three-ounce cup when technicians work outside of a spray booth in a professional production facility. Proper respiratory protection must be worn when mixing and spraying paints and coatings. Application Method Comparison There can be several advantages of using an air gun sprayer to apply paint or other coatings as compared with other application methods such as using a brush or roller. Spraying coatings delivers a much higher quality finish, which promotes longer life of the finish. A brush leaves fine lines in the paint or coating that can trap dirt, mold, and mildew, which can sometimes lead to rotting of the wood underneath. Spraying is faster than brushing or rolling, offering significant time savings during application. Time is also saved in the long run due to the longer life of the finish which reduces the need for recoating. Technical Specifications Use with an air compressor that produces at least 10 CFM (cubic feet per minute) or more with a 5 horse-power motor or larger. The most common air line used with this spray gun is a 3/8 diameter with a 20-foot or 25-foot line.
